- Colony Capital wises up and bails out on deal talks with MGM Mirage, leaving CityCenter’s funding in jeopardy yet again. MGM, which had previously announced it was considering a sale of its casinos nobody would really want in Detroit and Mississippi, is probably close to having to cough up the Bellagio by now.

- Meanwhile, casino operators around the country have issued an economic gag order.
