Vultures Circling Suntrust, 55 West In Downtown Orlando

What’s the last thing you want to see circling around a bank these days? I mean, other than, like, Ken Lewis’ resume or something? Probably vultures. But, in downtown Orlando, they’ve cozied up to the Suntrust building (shown above) and also to 55 West, a nearby project that was built to be luxury condos but repurposed as apartments, which remain mostly vacant:

Dozens of vultures are making a mess of the rooftop and balconies of 55 West, a luxury high-rise condo in the heart of downtown Orlando. Only a fraction of the building’s units are occupied by people, but a group of the scavenging birds have decided to make the building home.

Jaimini Nayee works on the 29th floor of the SunTrust tower, another downtown building plagued by vultures. She said she can see the vultures swarming around 55 West from her window.

A bad portent for the banking industry and for multifamily real estate?
