Glad I Don’t Live In Connecticut

Great set of reps you guys have in Connecticut! Who needs to work on a budget when you can play solitaire and read ESPN’s website instead?

Reader John Keller made my day with this one. Lawmakers in Connecticut can’t get the budget done, but they sure can play a mean solitaire. While House Majority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. spoke in the Hall of the House, his colleagues didn’t listen. In the famous Associated Press photo making its way ’round the ‘Net, two lawmakers are spotted playing solitaire, one is held captive by the world series highlights and box score, and one is on Facebook. Also, it also looks like the one the far, far right is on Yahoo email.

Not necessarily LOLFed, I know. But we love mocking politicians of all shapes and sizes. And just think, one day one of these folks may be in the House or Senate, playing Solitaire while working on important banking legislation, just like the big boys we know and love.

Cafero’s actually the House minority leader, a Republican. Who would believe that the Republicans were the majority in Connecticut? That’s just silly.

If Redtube had been around when you were in law school, it would have looked like that instead.

That doesn’t bother me one bit since these folks are very good at multitasking.
