It’s a hard-knock life for a Ponzi schemer:
Allen Stanford, the indicted Texas tycoon and cricket impresario who bankrolled the Twenty20 game, has suffered two black eyes and a broken nose in a punch-up in prison.
Mr Stanford, facing trial for allegedly running a $7 billion pyramid scheme through his Antigua-based bank, was admitted to hospital with concussion after the fight on Thursday, officials said. The US Marshals Service said that the 59-year-old, an imposing figure who is 6ft 6in, got into an altercation with another inmate around 10am. In addition to the concussion, he suffered a broken nose and two black eyes.
But… you should’ve seen the other guy! Actually, we suspect the other guy was fine. It’s probably hard to go from cushy middle-aged millionaire to prison hardass overnight, though maybe some ex-Blackwater guys should get started on setting up an executive boot camp for that, because we like to think there should be a market for such training.

Chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all hard
And all shootin some b-ball in the prison yard
When a couple of guys
Who had pulled my card
Startin making trouble behind the guard
I got in one little fight and the judge made a frown
He said “You’re moving over to Federal Detention downtown”
