The Governator’s Yard Sale

We used this image a while back but I still love it – except, now, I think he needs more like $26 billion dollars. Alas. I’m sure $4 bn would help though when you consider how desperate California has gotten — for the last couple months, it’s been reported that you can buy everything owned by the state of California that’s not nailed down and a few things that are, including your very own prison at San Quentin.

Ahhhnold has been Tweeting nonstop about the state’s problems, and you will definitely find some little gems in his Twitter feed. He confirmed the state is going to start posting stuff to eBay and Craigslist:

We’ll actually be having a CA Garage Sale at the end of Aug to auction cars and office supplies…. [W]e will be using craigslist and ebay for the garage sale. Planned for Aug 28-29.

Those are both good California companies, so at least he’s sourcing this from close to home. Today, his tweets reached a new level of hilarity, as he posted a video where he waves a knife around (which, had it been done in a Crocodile Dundee-meets-Crazy Eddie style, would have been hilarious, but as is, just flops) and talks about autographing cars. FoxNews had a field day with the clip:

Is scrawling his name across a bland fleet vehicle really going to make it a collectors’ item? If so, what they say about fools and their money being soon parted must be true, and California will be saved. (And yes, that is a good thing, because they have the highest concentration of In-n-Out Burger of anywhere in the United States, and that is worth preserving.)

That was the only clip I could find, alas. (The actual video from Twitter is too wide and broke my site layout. Fail.)
