To summarize it in a single snippet - Michigan has slipped from 16th to 33rd in median income in just 9 years. This area is a preview for what will happen to the cities that aren't on either coast. We're going to be apart of the first generation in American history that will experience a decreased standard of living, for the majority of Americans.
