Berkshire’s credit rating has been cut by Moody’s, to a peasant-like AA2, on the heels of Fitch cutting the company’s rating and S&P announcing they were reviewing it. So, you know, if you see Buffett out on the street begging for change, don’t give him any. He is no longer good for it. He’ll just spend it on GS, like a hobo.

Now there are only 4 companies with the top rating. From an article about GE losing its rating:
Prior to this action only five US borrowers – Automatic Data Processing, Berkshire Hathaway, Exxon Mobil, Microsoft and TIAA-CREF – now hold the highest Moody’s rating, the lowest number since inception in 1909.

I’m honestly a little surprised that ADP is still sitting on top, you’d think that the rash of layoffs would have hit their business pretty hard by now.

Now that a laid-off person can hang with you for 18 months on subsidized COBRA, I’d guess ADP is prob still busy helping employers with paperwork. Not to mention, they’ve got the lucrative business of providing those weekly unemployment estimates that are closer to accurate these days but still usually not.
I’ve got a contact there actually. Will go ahead and be nosy.
