Shamwow! Aggregator Bank To Absorb Toxic Assets

Talk of the creation of an “aggregator bank” to buy up toxic assets at “fair” (read: well above current market value) prices is all the rage right now. You know, the task the TARP was originally supposed to perform, until it ended up taking random equity stakes instead. Details are sketchy, but this interview with Sheila Bair has some details. Personally, I prefer to believe the aggregator bank will have Shamwow-like abilities to magically absorb trash assets and recapitalize banks.
