Don’t Pay For Me, Argentina

Yes, we are well aware that Hugo Chavez is not the president of Argentina, but this site is run by Americans, most of whom think he is the prime minister of the evil Communist nation of South America, from whom we import 103% of our oil.  And it’s not like I can ever pass up a picture of a world leader pointing at his junk, while speaking before the UN General Assembly.  Besides, I couldn’t find a picture of former Argentinian president Nestor Kirchner that looked that funny; every single picture of him looks exactly like Marty Feldman.

Anyway, Argentina has apparently gotten sick of being outdone by the US and Europe, and has moved to nationalize the nation’s private pension system.  Also, Argentina has forgotten the meaning of the word “private.”  This cunning plan is of course solely to help protect the nation’s retirees and their retirement money, and is not at all a way for the Argentinian government to raid private citizens’ pension funds to pay off federal debts, of which there are many.

The government’s nationalizing of pension funds is the biggest slap in the face to the good people of Argentina since Madonna played Eva Perón in that terrible movie.
