Congress: Stop Emailing Us About The Bailout, Thx

October 1st, 2008 by alyx · 4 Comments · bailout

On TheHill, I see word that the failout is killing Congress’ email servers:

The House is limiting e-mails from the public to prevent its websites from crashing due to the enormous amount of mail being submitted on the financial bailout bill.

As a result, some constituents may get a ‘try back at a later time’ response if they use the House website to e-mail their lawmakers about the bill defeated in the House on Monday in a 205-228 vote.

So yeah, your input – do not want. Kthxbai!

ED: This is what tl;dr means.

Erisa was enacted in the early 1970′s and it protected our retirement plans with fiduciary responsibility given to the investment groups within companies. Then in 1979 because of the unscrupulous attacks by people like T Boon Pickins to raid the retirement funds within companies, the 401k act was passed. This law made employees invest in the stock market all their retirement funds, tying up the funds for a minimum period and leveing large penalties for early withdrawl. These mutual fund accounts provided new feul to Wall Street investment houses. They then played fast an loose with these funds and soon they were essentialy gone because these funds were backed by the subprime loans. Now the Congress wants to bail out the banks that stole these funds in the first place. Lending institutions are still makeing funds available, but they only service the loans for another authority. Their is too much trickery going on, Congress is rushing to pass the bill, and they are forcing it down the publics throat. I personally would rather live the rest of my life in abject poverty than to give any of these pirates another red cent!!!!!!!!!
